Are you making a historical feature film and want to get the music right? Or a fairytale fantasy adventure that needs some appropriate musical atmosphere? Are you planning an event that requires featured or background music of a particular period? Are you an academic looking for a musical-historical perspective on your research?
Then I will probably be able to help you
I have made a thorough study of European music and culture, particularly that of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods (c. 10th to 18th century) and hold an M.A. cum laude in musicology from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. In addition, I have attended a one-year seminar in general ethnomusicology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and have a broad knowledge of music traditions all around the world. I have published academic papers in international music magazines and worked for radio and tv stations in Germany. My interest in film music came in useful while working at German tv station ZDF (state channel 2).
I can help you select appropriate music for your film, tv show, party or event, and advise you in the choice of instruments and musicians to be seen on screen or stage. I also provide arrangements and original historically informed compositions for your soundtrack, event or special purpose.
