This was an attempt at designing a cover for our Rent a Nightingale cd - but it got turned down by the recorder player who thought it looked too much like "Dead Can Dance". So what??? - Anyway, she also complained that I could have taken more care with the hand positions, and there she is right!

This painting was done in a hurry, within only a few days - lots of wet-on-wet painting, so there wasn't that much scope for tiny accurate detail! Maybe I should re-do it someday with a bit more time on my hands.
