Edoras & Rohan - Erehwon and the Mt. Somers area

A second trip in spring 2003 brought me again to Erehwon and the site of the Edoras film set - and the different season and quite different weather conditions make for a quite different set of photos from those taken on my first visit in March of the same year.

Though I was luckier with the sunshine, a strong wind forced me to find a sheltered camping spot in the valley itself, rather than staying on the DOC site at Lake Camp - so I got to spend a sunny morning in Edoras, and even had a chance to try my 4 wheel drive not only on the rather shingly unsealed road leading out from Mt Somers, but on a fishing access road and finally, on a real and proper river bed! But no worries, I refrained from destroying nature in any big way.
